Loose Tooth 09:32
out of sight i reach for high shelves i’m not alone with myself dumbstruck in morning sunlight bleached back to youth and health promise me you’ll wake me when i’m missing the dance again sourmouthing each and every person i’ve ever been vanishing afternoons a year like a loose tooth wake early, do the laundry as if that’s any use dead tired but well provisioned we leave the windows down and let the valley take us straight to the heart of town all at once, with screwed-up courage i knocked and walked away all this time it’s like the world’s been waiting on a better version we’re on time, we’ll be fine i’ve heard it over and over keep searching our shadows i’ve drifted into another let go of all thoughts now there’s nothing here that you need to save cast off what most soothes you and watch it sink underneath the waves not ever cast aside every song a b-side stop searching far and wide every song is a b-side don't act so mystified every song a b-side you should be satisfied every song is a b-side another failure with the folks when i'm tongue tied i provoke tripped up by stupid jokes ramming fingers in the spokes why can't my thoughts hold the shape they have when they're inside my brain? the edges melt and don't maintain and pile on the ground like ticker tape leave me hashing on my knees for the scrap that i need to explain what i mean i need you to know what i mean speak to me become a voice at least pretend you’re here by choice

Salty 05:16
maybe you'll like me now that i'm not proud, i know i'm shit and i'm over it stuck to my hometown like gum on the soles of the shoes i've got white and brown like the snowbanks on my block stained in salt and chalk unchained but too weak to walk and drained from a month spent on electric heat and idle talk and rent okay, all right, i'll give way maybe you'll hate me now that I won't be pushed around but still stammer and slow and after all: giving in is all i know calm right down it's not going wrong not a blame in sight

Heads Up 03:23
you can wear me out walk me through the world again have i yet fallen off? dreamed into doubt drifted from my street again over the darkened lawn drain each new day of tired miles and bright grays place back in store blank hours once more low in the west done with us entirely could never be enough heads up return you've got a lot to learn get up get burned this is how you fake concern oh ike please let me sleep tonight better than being left dead got time on your hands and a price on your head
